Shizukuishi, the town of forests and water,
with a magnificent view of Mount Iwate
Here in Iwate Prefecture, many of the traditional crafts developed in the harsh climate have been inherited in present day craftsmanship. As people similarly involved in manufacturing, we have respect for the local environment and culture, and want to be actively involved in their preservation. For example, the work benches inside the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi are made with the traditional Iwate craft of Iwayado Tansu, creating an environment where our craftsmen can come into contact with the local culture. At Morioka Seiko Instruments, we aim for the very pinnacle of watch manufacturing, with the motto of “Merging craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology” in harmony with local industries and the natural environment.
